The decor is cosy and warm with many hand made wall hangings, antique skis, ice skates and sleds. 
Depicting the Donner Lake's heritage are antique ice tongs, horse tack and a hunters trap for decoration. 
Your vacation can be as active as you want or relaxed and laid back enjoying the beautiful Donner Lake and mountain views. 
All the rooms are on one floor. 
There is an instant on gas fireplace to compliment a cozy evening or brisk morning. 
Donner Lake is at the 6,000 foot elevation and surrounded by mountains aver 8,000 feet. The view from Donner Summit is spectacular. Drive up to the viewing area near historic Rainbow Bridge. 
There are many hikes in the area to explore the glacial lakes on the nearby Pacific Crest Trail. 
Donner Lake has a public boat launch ramp at the west end. 
There are many beaches in Donner Memorial State Park one half mile from the house. There is also a public West End Beach. 
Shopping is conveniently close. There are many restaurants in historic downtown Truckee about five minutes from the home. 
Casino gambling and shows are in Reno or North Lake Tahoe, Nevada, a short drive of one half hour. 
The Donner Lake and north Lake Tahoe areas are great for spring, summer or fall vacations.

There is off street parking for three cars with boat trailers if needed.
